Yesterday afternoon we headed over to Sabino Canyon again, and I grabbed my camera this time. It’s breathtakingly beautiful there. The first time we went, we took the tram up to the top and then hiked back down, but the last few times we’ve gone, we have just taken a trail, enjoyed a hike, and played in the water. There’s a river that runs through the canyon and there is very little that is prettier than water flowing through the desert! I’m so thankful we have so many meetings out west this year so we can enjoy the warmer weather and have fun exploring God’s creation.
My mom bought Nathaniel a new Bear Grylls’ knife for his birthday last month and he absolutely LOVES it. (Thanks, Nana!) He brings it along on our hikes “just in case we run into danger”. 🙂 There have been 3 mountain lion encounters in the canyon this year, but I’m quite sure our family makes enough noise to scare off ALL the wildlife. I’ve been hoping to see a snake or tarantula or even a javelina, but no such luck yet. The mountain lions can stay in the cliffs, thank you very much. 🙂
This. This is why having a large family is so awesome. Cause my big kids get to love on my little ones. (And is there anything cuter than fat baby legs? Titus walked right into the water in his clothes….so we had to remove some of them!)
Titus (15 months) has a huge fascination with rocks. All of the children find rocks for him and bring them to him to throw.
This one is growing up a bit too fast for my liking. 🙂 She’s a lovely young woman with such a sweet personality.
I love capturing these unposed moments:
This is a tarantula hole. We think. But no spider. 🙁
I love Johanna’s smile! She just sparkles!
Mountain lions, beware.
Bear Grylls Junior Nathaniel Bergey is here!
Titus took his nap in the Ergo during the hike.
I had to sprint ahead to capture this shot of them holding hands. They aren’t always the best of friends, but today they were cute buddies! 🙂
Alyssia and Daddy:
See? Still buddies.
Today we’re celebrating Noah’s 9th birthday. His real birthday is the 19th, but a Christmas birthday is hard, so we always celebrate a little early. He’s enjoying a Zoomer Dinosaur at the moment. 🙂
Blessings to you all today!
